Meesho: India’s top value-commerce platforms
Started with Why?
To my surprise, I’ve seen Meesho evolve in ways that Amazon and Flipkart haven’t. In a country as vast and diverse as India, with varying income levels and digital maturity, Meesho seems to have found a unique sweet spot. It truly connects with Bharat.
As a Product Manager, I wanted to understand what makes Meesho work, including its strategy, user experience, and growth factors. Hence, this teardown.
This teardown looks at Meesho’s product journey from a problem-solving and design-thinking perspective, analyzing how the platform encourages user adoption, seller participation, and marketplace growth. I wanted to move beyond basic UX critique and focus on the strategic, behavioural, and monetization factors that make Meesho one of India’s most impactful e-commerce ecosystems.

Teardown Goal
The goal was to understand how Meesho carved out a place for itself in a market already dominated by e-commerce giants, Amazon and Flipkart.
This teardown deepened my appreciation for Meesho’s bold
product bets and grassroots approach to e-commerce.
